This chapter describes how to distribute your application to the world from a Web site. Doing so is one use of Mozilla's XPInstall (Cross Platform Install) system.

Most Mozilla applications are built to be used. Before one can be used, it must be installed on some computer. Installation is part of the general problem of deployment.
