Time for action – adding a custom CSS file

Adding your own custom CSS file, as I described earlier, can be challenging to wrap your head around, especially if you have never done it before. In this exercise, we will create a very simple CSS file and link it to all of our pages.

  1. In your favorite text editor, create a new file and name it mystyle.css.
  2. Enter the following contents into the newly created CSS file. This code will make the content area of your site have a white background and red text.
    #content{background-color:white;color:red;}
