Viewing Photos

Click Pictures on the Home screen and you’ll see a simple file browser that you can use to access your pictures. Raspbmc supports standard image formats, including JPEG, bitmap, and TIFF, and generates thumbnails of your photos and folders. Raspbmc also uses some of the tags from your photos to create smart filters, so you can browse by folder, or by date or by camera used.

When you’re in a folder, open the View Options menu to choose the sort order and to filter which files are displayed. You can also run a slideshow from here, but if you want to remove the zany animation, you’ll need to go to the Home screen, click System, click Settings, click Pictures, and click Slideshow. Here you can switch off the pan and zoom effect, which is a very good idea.
