Reading the built-in documentation (man)

This recipe shows how the man command can be used to display built-in documentation.

The Raspbian Linux distribution comes with a large amount of local documentation that is built into the system. There are three primary sources of built-in documentation, namely the man-pages, the Info documents, and the /usr/share/docs directory.

This recipe uses the man command to display the man-page documentation for the fortune command.

The next recipe in this chapter shows how to use the info command to navigate through documentation stored as info-pages.
