Battery Power for the DSP Boards

 

 

G.1 Introduction

SOME users may desire to operate their DSP board on battery power. Possible reasons for this would certainly include portability, but also electrical isolation from the AC power system. The latter may be desirable, for example, to provide increased patient safety when the DSP board input is connected to a biomedical signal source such as an electrocardiogram (ECG) provided via surface electrodes and appropriate bioinstrumentation buffer circuitry. We have proven that it is quite feasible to use any of the DSP boards supported by this text with battery power.
