Chapter 11. UDDI: A Web Service

In a world full of Web services, Universal Description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) becomes an extremely valuable component. As a service built into Windows .NET server, UDDI is also likely to become the de-facto standard Web services catalog within the enterprise. Therefore, to complete the Web services story, I will explain what UDDI is and the scenarios where applications can benefit from private and public UDDI implementations. I will focus on writing UDDI-enabled applications that communicate with UDDI as a SOAP-based Web service.
