Where Ethics and Reality Collide
In early 2002, when I signed with E! Entertainment Television to launch The Michael Essany Show, the concept of reality TV as it is understood today was still very much in its infancy. No one knew exactly how reality television would eventually play out. At the time, of course, I was too much concerned with the future of my own series to lose sleep over the entire genre of reality programming.
