A
A-roll Video that is used for both visual and audio presentation purposes.
above the line The creative elements of a television production project, including but not limited to writers, producers, directors, talent, and the like. These are the names/titles that often appear above the bold line on a standard production budget or worksheet.
A/B-roll splicing Cutting between two video sources playing simultaneously.
accent light A light such as a key light, a kicker, or a backlight that calls attention to one particular subject.
action axis (“180-degree rule”) An imaginary line between two subjects; used to secure the continuity of camera movements and direction.
