17. Get in the raw
Eating more raw food – we’re talking carrots rather than chicken – is a well-documented route to raising energy levels.
The most famous raw food proponent was Dr Max Gerson. He started off by using a raw-food diet to cure his own migraines, then other people’s migraines.
Then he moved on ‘up’ the disease ladder until he became famous for his treatment of cancer. Gerson believed that the starting point of all illness is an imbalance between sodium and potassium. His theory was that eating raw fruit and veg (which are loaded with potassium) increases oxygen uptake by the cells and mobilises white blood cells to fight disease. This results in better health and vastly improved energy.
