Abstract

In this era of technology, some of the major innovative revolutions includes Blockchain, Internet of Things and Cognitive systems. Whereas, the combination of these technologies can develop a new technology with high capacity and high potential. IoT includes sensors and actuators which is connected via internet where the objects can interact and communicate. It makes the device smart by yielding useful information from gathered raw data which are monitored and controlled remotely. Blockchain is a tamper resistant distributed ledger where all transactions of blocks are recorded with timestamp. Blockchain is also a decentralized network with properties including anonymity and integrity, which have the capacity to give security to data transferred over IoT. Cognitive system repeatedly learns by interacting with environment, situations, people and gathered data. It improves its capability via learning and understanding the way of thinking ability of humans thus generating a way to produce a recommendation system for users. So, existing combinations of these technologies are analyzed and a framework for blockchain based cognitive IoT is proposed.
