This report, prepared by the Ministry for the Environment, reviews the used oil situ-
ation in a relatively small country where approximately 30 ML (7,920,000 US gal-
lons) per year of used oil were estimated to have been generated from approximately
60 ML (15,840,000 gallons) of lubricating oils consumed at that time. Of this, some
21 ML (5,544,000 US gallons) were accounted for, leaving approximately 9 ML
(2,376,000 US gallons) per year that were apparently being improperly disposed of.
