The recalculation with the lower combustion loss in the engines resulted in a
reduction of the overall carbon emissions for 2004 of some 342,470 tonnes (755.1
Mlbs.) of carbon, with 239,710 tonnes (528.6 Mlbs.) of this being from other industrial
combustion in boilers, gas turbines and stationary engines, and emissions from road
engines being 59,610 tonnes (131.4 Mlbs.) of carbon less than previously reported.
