Polyalkylene Glycol: Mixtures of condensation polymers of ethylene oxide and
water. They are any of a family of colorless liquids with high molecular
weight that are soluble in water and in many organic solvents. They are used
in detergents and as emulsiers and plasticizers. PAG-based lubricants are
used in diverse applications in which petroleum oil-based products do not
provide the desired performance—and because they are re-resistant and
will not harm workers or the environment.
Poly α-olens (PAOs): Synthetic base uids for high-performance lubricants which
are impurity-free and contain only well-dened hydrocarbon molecules.
