ALTHOUGH EVERY BUSINESS needs to keep growing to keep from starving, new opportunities can often be double-edged swords. On one hand, tackling new challenges is key to keeping a company and its employees fresh and invigorated. On the other, as I found with my Zane’s Outdoor experience, not all new opportunities are created equal. That said, although I regret all that I lost over those ten weeks that Zane’s Outdoor was in operation, I probably learned more over that period of time about running a business than in any four-year college program I could have enrolled in.
