I’ve always been impressed with web or graphic designers. When they were job hunting, they could simply whip out their portfolio and show potential employers clear, concrete examples of their work. If the company liked the logos or websites or sample reports they saw before them, it was a go. But for most knowledge workers, the task was harder. How could you possibly demonstrate to an outsider what you’re capable of? But with the internet, that’s changed.
