Shortly aer I attended some Lean training, I came back all red up. We
had done the one-piece ow exercise, and it really reinforced and high-
lighted the problems associated with excess WIP. My engineering man-
ager and one of his team members had gone with me. We walked through
the small parts area in the plant with them and observed the chaos. I sug-
gested that we apply some of the training we just attended.
