SURVIVING
“Surviving” – I think one of the problems with the American manufactur-
ing culture—and it may just be the American culture—is that company
presidents are more focused on their personal survival than on the com-
pany’s survival. I will categorize this as “it just is what it is.” is comment
is not meant to be mean spirited, but an articulation of what I see as an
issue. Actions that are required for a company president to survive versus
what it might take for the business to survive in the long term may be
