DOI: 10.1201/9781003307495-8

In this chapter, we discuss several complementary topics to support the methods presented in the other chapters of this book. These topics are intended to introduce more advanced methods required to model complex systems. While the topics are not covered in complete depth, it is important to be aware of these topics and resources for advanced studies. The topics covered in this chapter are uncertainty analysis, dependent failure analysis, importance measures, and human reliability analysis. These four topics are critical to a comprehensive analysis, particularly for analyzing complex engineering system reliability and risk assessment problems.
