1 Secularization or Reenchantment of the World?

The concept of secularization has been contested for quite some time. Some scholars describe the theory of secularization as an ideology or a “myth” (Aubrey 1954; Comblin 1981) with which modern society reflects on itself without regarding the “facts”. Others do not share this skeptical view and try to strengthen the notion of secularization in various modifications.
