6. Conclusion – Mediated cultural memory in a digital age
Memory studies have only recently turned their attention to the media specificity and the mediatization of cultural memory. In this study I have suggested a number of avenues that might be taken by media memory studies. This study has drawn on ideas of the performativity of cultural memory, its multidirectionality and its capacity to travel from one context to another. Drawing on selected case studies, model analyses provide useful tools for media memory studies.
