ExaminingTechnology’s Effecton the Project
“Technology. . . is a queer thing. It brings you great giftswith one hand, and it stabs you in the back with the other.”
—C. P. Snow, English Physicist and Novelist,The Two Cultures
Nearly every project today has a technical component, be it a word processor or a microprocessor, that creates unusual challenges. Technology’s impact is the project’s most difficult area to assess because recovery managers generally lack current technical knowledge, the technical teams prefer working on new technology, and there are variations in the proposed product’s lifecycle. Determining the correct balance of technological elements required to meet the project’s goals is an art.
