ABSTRACT: If the recalculation of an existing bridge due to deficient verifications is not successful, in
Germany, the recalculation guide for existing road bridges offers the possibility of arranging compensatory
measures. The guide differentiates between traffic-oriented compensatory measures and compensatory surveil-
lance.
