ABSTRACT: The Okavango River Bridge in northern Namibia near Divundu was originally designed and
constructed in the 1970’s to carry a 60 tonne army tank on a deck width of 5.5m. The route across the bridge has
become a major access between the harbour at Walvisbay and Zambia. This required the bridge to be widened
