Introduction

A few years ago, I was in a taxi heading to a place called Dahiyeh. Dahiyeh is somewhere you might better know from television as the Hezbollah ‘stronghold’ of Southern Beirut. But, in reality, Dahiyeh is just an impoverished urban sprawl. It’s not a pretty place. It’s a concrete place, more than anything else.
