Fully and actively listening involves turning off mind chatter and allowing yourself to be still so that you can be present and can truly listen with all of your senses — hearing, seeing, feeling, tasting, and touching. It’s a practice that provides you with an abundance of information that you might normally miss out on while also giving you the benefit of quieting your mind so that you have access to objectivity, intelligence, and emotional regulation. Fully listening, therefore, allows you to be better able to be present, stay calm, learn, and make informed decisions.
