CHAPTER 5: CRISIS

Crisis is the focus in this part of our discussion of resilient thinking. The ideas that are involved in managing crises are as diverse and numerous as the types of issue that can arise, develop and worsen without intervention. Personally, I believe that ‘crisis’ is an overused and misunderstood term. Therefore, before we go any further, it is useful to begin with some form of definition so that we can begin with a working idea about what is involved and what needs to be thought about. Here are two definitions:
