Summary

In this chapter, we ensured the accessibility for viewers providing fallbacks. We have learned how to detect browser characteristics and supported features by using CSS Browser Selector and Modernizr. These libraries have helped us a lot by offering support to perform a progressive enhancement. Also, we learned interesting polyfills for HTML5, such as html5shiv, MediaElements, and techniques for SVG and FileAPI. Respond, a useful polyfill for CSS was included in this chapter too.

In the next chapter, we will see thousands of plugins for creating a good responsive website, complementing all of the chapters we have read so far.
