Knowing who is responsible for what
In most technical projects where there are sub-systems, particularly where the sub-systems are ‘technology’ systems, there will be two groups with an overlapping interest in ‘inputs’ required and ‘outputs’ desired. The client organisation has an a priori interest in the ‘inputs’ demanded by each sub-system and whether the outputs from the upstream (‘feeding’) interfacing sub-system will provide the right information and outcomes, such that the interfacing downstream (‘beneficiary’ or ‘receiving’) system can function as intended.
