11.4 Summary

CIT is a very useful tool in the risk analyst's kit. The results from these types of analyses can provide great insists into a process. It is an easy technique to use but does require enough participants to attain data saturation prior to the development of process maps or failure paths. Although the focus of this chapter was on CIT, other accident analysis techniques can be used as well with good results in the development of risk assessments. Root cause analysis is, of course, a great technique to use for aiding in a risk assessment (6). Whatever the technique, the goal is always the same, develop the best risk assessment model as possible.
