What’s a little larceny between friends? Confessions of an info-thief
Abstract
A fictional library employee and info-thief discusses the theft of borrower data and its illicit uses. Such data can be sold to persons interested in compiling mailing lists containing the personal information of people who might wish to buy real estate, travel packages, and other goods and services. Better security for library systems is needed to thwart info-thieves.
