Downloading Software

When you download a file from the Internet (copy it from another computer to yours), it might be in any number of different “formats,” which are explained on the following pages. For right now, let’s walk through the process of actually downloading something, then we’ll look at what to do with the file you downloaded. If you’ve done this before, skip to the next section.

Practice downloading software from the Internet:

In this example, we’ll go to Apple’s web site and download the demo version of a game. The process is basically the same no matter where you download software, even if you buy it at an online store.
