Abstract: Vision and audition provide crucial information for adapting to dynamic and changing environments. While vision is commonly used on robots, robot audition is relatively new and could greatly contribute to enhance human-robot communication capabilities. Up to now, most speech-recognition systems have been designed to work in a close-talking microphone environment (as is the case for cell phones).
