Chapter 6. Effective Decisions

Efficient product development depends upon many decisions being made by the right people with the right information at the right time. Each decision has to be supported by the analysis of data, the evaluation of alternative proposals, and the comparison of expected outcomes, with criteria that are relevant to the intended consequences of the decision. Project-level decisions are scheduled in the project management plan when they are on the critical path. They enable the future work to be more focused with clear guidance and lower risks, with follow-up implementation of the decision being managed as a systematic agenda for project management.
