Setting up a Video Monitor

My background is BBC engineering in studios and on location, where I specialized in special effects and process photography. I patented the Vical in-picture system of setup and video measurement for location operations in 1990, a technique that was developed and marketed by Hamlet Video International, Ltd., under license. In 1993, I set up my own training business aimed at camera operators and photographers new to video operations, and published my first book, The Video Camera Operator’s Handbook. This was followed by An Introduction to Video Measurement, now, in its third edition, retitled An Introduction to Video and Audio Measurement.
