In Linux, there is a tool calleddisk dump (dd). This tool helps to copy the content of the image to the SD card. dd is a command line tool which is available in all the Ubuntu/Linux based OS. Insert the micro SD card, format to the FAT 32 file system, and use the command mentioned later to write image to the micro SD card.
In the dd tool, there is no progress bar to indicate the copy progress. To get the progress bar, we can install a pipe viewer tool called pv:
$ sudo apt-get install pv
After installing pv, we can use the following command to install the image file to the micro SD card. Note that you should have the OS image in the same path of the terminal, and also note the micro SD card device name, for example, ...
