This chapter will explore the theory behind using the runes magically. I am not going to give a selection of rune charms or spells for the reader to “plug into” specific situations. I don’t believe it works like that—or not very well, at any rate. Rune magic is too organic and individual a practice. Nor will I be providing a beginner’s guide to “becoming a magician.” There are several good and useful books in the resources section that can serve that purpose.
