It is amazing how much people get done if they do not worry about who gets the credit.
In this book, we’re working to a four-week prep period, so the first two weeks involve creating the schedule, meeting the director and communicating with the production team, art department and locations (among others). There may be script revisions, casting, location scouts (which you will not attend—these are for the designer, director and possibly the director of photography (DP) if s/he has started), and potentially meetings between the director and other heads of department who haven’t been hired yet.
