This chapter provides a brief introduction to some of the procedures used in EPS. It should be noted that it is not feasible within this book to include a complete description of all procedures that exist in EPS. Instead, we have chosen a few key procedures that should give a good overview for some of the most important use cases. An interested reader can consult the 3GPP technical specifications 23.060, [23.060], 23.401, [23.401] and 23.402, [23.402] for complete descriptions.
