Presentation Tier
The presentation tier is the part of the system that the user sees. This tier often is developed first in conjunction with the users so that they can see what the system will look like. It is often easier for users to relate to working with the visual interface in making functionality and usage decisions. As developers, we know that the real heavy work will occur in the business logic and data tiers. However, the visual presentation is very important to the users because they will need to view and interact with it in order to use the applications.
