This book was created with the intent of providing you, the reader, with a strong set of fundamental knowledge required to create SVG. Along the way, if you've gathered some more advanced knowledge, then the book has been all the more successful.
Throughout the book, many of the examples referenced a news center graphic shown in Figure 1.1. By building many of the components of this master graphic, the author has intended to provide you with some practical applications of each skill set.
