There are a number of ways to speed up your workflow and to work better as part of a team. Batch processing in Fireworks allows you to make changes to a number of files quickly and simultaneously.

You can resize and export dozens of images at once without even having to sit at your machine. You can even save the session as a script that you can use later to process images to the same specifications.
