Appendix B. Working with a UML Modeling Tool

As you followed along with the book's discussion and did the exercises, you probably used pencil and paper to create your diagrams. If you had to do that in your project-related modeling efforts, you'd quickly hit a number of snags. In addition to drawing those troublesome lines, circles, ellipses, and rectangles, you'd have a difficult time when you wanted to move them around and change the layout of a finished diagram.
