Understanding the InfoSet (Ad Hoc) Query
Unlike the SAP Query, which is a complete reporting solution tool, the InfoSet Query is designed for basic users to retrieve simple single-use lists of data from your R/3 database. Using this tool, (all query information) including the selection criteria is available on a single screen. In version 4.6, the Human Capital Management module-reporting tool, called the Ad Hoc Query, was combined with the technology of the SAP Query and made available for all modules. It’s now called the InfoSet Query (although it is still referred to as the Ad Hoc Query when executed for HR reporting). This section refers to it as the InfoSet (Ad Hoc) Query; the functionality is the same regardless of its name.
