Understanding Goals and Funnels
In many instances, you want visitors to your website to perform a specified action. Perhaps you want your visitors to make a purchase, fill in a form, or just view a particular page.
In Google Analytics, a goal is defined as a visit to a particular page. As such, you have to translate your internal goals into visits to specific goal pages. When a visitor visits that goal page, you get a conversion—that is, your goal is accomplished.
