Field Security
Through security roles, you can effectively control access to records. Sometimes this is not enough; some organizations also require the capability to lock, or protect, certain fields in a record. This can be implemented via field security.
Whenever a new field is created in CRM, you have the option to mark it as a field that requires additional security. When implemented, the field is displayed on a form with a key symbol next to it, to provide visual recognition that field security is applied to it and that some users may not be able to see the contents of the field.
