Q. Can we shrink databases directly from the SharePoint2010 Central Administration site?
A. Yes. It is possible to shrink databases directly from the SharePoint 2010 Central Administration site. To do this, go to Review Problems and Solutions in the Monitoring section. If some databases have too much free space, you should see a warning under the Availability heading indicating “Database has large amounts of unused space.” If you click that, you see a Repair Automatically button that will shrink the database.
