Hour 6. Introducing Cocoa

What you’ll learn in this hour:

• What Cocoa Is and Where It Came From

• The Basics of Using Interface Builder

• How to Use Interface Builder’s Inspectors

• How to Add and Configure Controls in a Window

Now that you have a solid foundation, built by the previous hours, of the tools and the Objective-C programming language, in this hour you’ll start building your first graphical user interface (GUI) with Cocoa.

In this hour, you learn what Cocoa is, where it came from, and what it includes. You’ll see the various inspectors and tools used in creating user interfaces for Mac OS X Lion. Then, to wrap things up and solidify all this information, you’ll build and manipulate your own UI using the design tool.
