If you’re like me, you’re a music lover. I love all types and styles of music, from classic soul to intelligent pop to straight ahead jazz to... well, you name it, I probably have some of it in my collection.
Yes, I have a big music collection, but I’m always on the lookout for new music to listen to. In the past year I’ve been turned on to Mumford & Sons, Nikki Jean, Janelle Monae, and Mayer Hawthorne—and enjoyed new albums from some of my old favorites, such as Fountains of Wayne, Jimmy Webb, and Brian Wilson.
Where do I discover new music these day? Unfortunately, the age of the hip local record store and its savvy staff are long gone, so I have to find other ways to learn about the latest bands and trends.
