When the IBM PC was first released in the early 1980s, it was considered the business machine. Software developed at the time reflected it, too.

If you were lucky enough to find a game back then, it was likely text based and if it wasn’t, you had to worry about complicated keystroke combinations to shoot down the alien invaders or try to land a simulated aircraft. After all, the computer mouse wouldn’t become commonplace equipment for several years.

Yet computer life—thankfully!—is now about so much more than crunching numbers in a spreadsheet or typing endless amounts of text in to your word processor. So let’s talk about having a little fun, shall we?
