Filters

As you apply breaks, sorts, and calculations, you may find that you want to focus on one or more subsets of data within the report. Filters allow you to restrict the data displayed in one or multiple blocks in the report. For example, in Figure 18-3 (shown earlier in the chapter), the table shows several product lines. To focus only on the specific product lines, you could insert a filter on the Lines column. Filters do not affect the query results; they affect only the data currently displayed in the block.

NOTE When you apply a filter, the calculations will also change to reflect only what is displayed.
